Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

The Short Version

Catechize has no accounts and collects no personal information. Your progress lives on your device. Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We receive only anonymous usage statistics. That's the whole story — the sections below spell it out.

What We Collect

Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no name, no email, no password, and no profile. The app sends anonymized usage signals (for example, "a practice session was completed") to a privacy-focused analytics service so we can understand which features help families most. These signals are not linked to your identity, are not used to track you across apps or websites, and contain no personal data.

What Stays on Your Device

Your learning progress, mastery levels, points, streaks, devotional progress, unlocked songs, and settings are stored only on your device (and in your device backups, which you control). We have no server that stores your data, and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Voice Practice

Some practice exercises let you recite an answer aloud. When you use them, the microphone recording is transcribed using your phone's built-in speech recognition — Apple's on iOS, Android's on Android (which may process audio on the platform's servers, per that platform's privacy policy) — solely to check your answer in the moment. We never store, upload, or receive your voice recordings or transcriptions. The microphone is used only while you hold a recording session open, and the feature is entirely optional.

Purchases

Catechize+ subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by the App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android). We never see your payment details. The store tells the app only whether a purchase is active so it can unlock your content.

Children's Privacy

Catechize is made for families. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it also collects none from children. There are no accounts, no chat, no ads, and no data profiles. Book links on author pages open in the browser and are intended for parents.

External Links

Author pages contain links to books on Amazon, which open in your browser outside the app. Amazon's own privacy policy applies there. Some links carry an affiliate tag that may earn us a small commission; the tag contains no information about you.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever add a feature that changes what data is handled, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date before the feature ships, and describe the change plainly.
